Spiritual dimension

The Serafico Institute is an ecclesiastical body that proposes itself as a tool for the practice of evangelical charity by promoting not only rehabilitation, functional and social recovery, education, but also moral education and Christian formation (Statute Art. 2).

On Saturday evening at 17.00 the Eucharist is celebrated, a fundamental element of Christian formation and unity; on Wednesday evening the celebration with the disabled is always prepared at 17.00; they are guided to active participation in the various celebrations through music-song-dance paths, capacity to offer God, representation of the Gospel word and participation in the Eucharistic banquet.

Spiritual assistance

Alfredo Avallone is the Serafico spiritual assistant and offers theological, spiritual and pastoral orientation to the Institute. As cooperator of the bishop, he helps the Institute to deepen the awareness of being a work of the Church, remembers pastoral guidelines, takes care of the insertion of the Institute’s activities in the organic pastoral care of the diocese, favors the relationship between the members and the bishop.

It also supports participation in the initiatives of the National Office for Health Pastoral Care of the Italian Episcopal Conference. As a spiritual animator, he introduces all the members of the Institute to the mystery of the presence of God, walking in the footsteps of the founder, San Ludovico da Casoria.
